Welcome back to the principals’ blog!

On October 6th we will be mailing out student results from ISAT and MAP testing. We
are currently formatting the MAP information in a way that will make it easy for parents to read and understand. If you have any questions about the results, please feel free to contact the school.

As many of you have heard, our Book Fair kickoff challenge to raise funds was a
tremendous success! Because of the students’ generosity, Mr. Murphy had to sport a
Packer’s jersey and I had to wear the colors of my least favorite team. Although wearing a Bears’ jersey was tough, the end result is that Woodlawn & Central Middle School in Zion are each receiving $539 worth of books for their libraries. I will take that deal every year. Personally, I noticed that Mr. Murphy had a content, happy smile on his face all day long. Please check out the PTO Newsletter to see how happy Mr. Murphy looks.

Attention 6th grade parents: On October 18th, Mike Byster (numbers guru) will be putting on an assembly in our learning center and you are invited. It will be in the morning and I will pass along further details when they are available. Mark your calendars; this is a very interesting assembly!

And finally, it is sad when the most interesting part of a Chicago baseball season is when October rolls around and you see who is getting fired.

Mr. Grana
